Home visit podiatry
If you cannot get to the clinic, the podiatrist comes to you. The service covers the Marina Baixa and the Marina Alta, and is arranged through its own website.
Some patients cannot come to the practice: because of reduced mobility, because leaving the house has become difficult, or because they depend on someone else to travel. The home visit podiatry service exists for them, and it is provided by the same professional who sees patients at the clinic in Altea.
It is not a recent addition. Seila Ivars began her career treating patients at home, before opening the clinic, and she still does. The home visit podiatry activity is entered in the health registry of the Valencian Community under no. 24759, which is separate from no. 44655, the registration of the practice in Altea.
What is treated at home
These are the treatments carried out at your home.
- Chiropody: nail cutting, hard skin and callus.
- Ingrown toenails.
- Nail fungus (onychomycosis).
- Plantar warts.
- Custom-made silicone orthoses.
If you are not sure whether your case can be treated at home
Ask when you arrange the visit. You will be told beforehand whether what you need can be done at your home, or whether it is better seen at the clinic, where all the equipment is.
Where the service goes
Any town in the Marina Baixa or the Marina Alta. Among the usual ones are Altea, l’Albir, l’Alfàs del Pi, Benidorm, La Nucia, La Vila Joiosa, Finestrat, Callosa, Polop, Calpe, Benissa, Jalón and Dénia. If yours is not on the list, just ask.
How to arrange a home visit
The service has its own website, seilaivarsribes.com, with the telephone number and the hours for home visits, which are not the same as the clinic’s. You can also call the clinic and ask about a home visit.
