Accessibility
What has been done so this website can be used with a keyboard and a screen reader, what has been measured and what is still pending.
This clinic sees many older people, and a website that cannot be used with a keyboard, with enlarged text or with a screen reader shuts them out. This page sets out what has been done, what has been checked and —above all— what has NOT been checked yet.
This statement is voluntary: Spanish Royal Decree 1112/2018 applies to the public sector, not to a private practice. It is published because it makes sense to say what state something is in, not because it is required.
What has been done
- The website works without JavaScript: the forms, the appointment calendar and the language selector are served from the server and do not depend on anything running in your browser.
- Everything can be reached with the keyboard, and the element that has focus is shown with its own outline.
- Images carry alternative text written one by one, and decorative ones are marked as such so a screen reader does not announce them.
- Images declare their width and height, so text does not jump around while the page loads.
- States are not distinguished by colour alone: they also carry text or a symbol.
- If your system asks for reduced motion, animations do not run.
- Fonts are served from this same domain, so text is never left invisible waiting for someone else’s server.
What has been measured
Every change to this website goes through an automated accessibility audit with axe-core across the public pages, in all six languages, and today it finds no violations of the criteria that tool is able to check. We also check that no page requires horizontal scrolling on a narrow screen.
What is still pending, and it should be said
An automated tool covers roughly a THIRD of the WCAG criteria. The other two thirds need a person: whether the order in which the keyboard moves through the page makes sense, whether an alternative text really describes what the image shows, whether the language is understandable. That manual review is pending, so this website does NOT claim conformance with WCAG 2.2 AA: claiming it with a third measured would be a statement without measurement.
The loading time of the home page is also outstanding: the full-width photograph in the header leaves it above the target this project set itself, and that is measured and recorded rather than glossed over.
If you hit a barrier, say so
Write to info@clinicapodologicaseila.com telling us which page it was, what you were trying to do and what you were using (browser, phone or computer, screen reader if you use one). That makes the problem reproducible, which is half of fixing it.
If what you need is to book an appointment and the website is getting in the way, call or message WhatsApp on +34 698 901 061: your appointment does not depend on the website working for you.
